I love this article for several reasons. Firstly, it just goes to show that money does not always drive performance - something we all know, but often choose to overlook. The second reason is for the recognition of the knowledge that people working in your organisation have - and how useful it is.
During my time at Dixons, my team ran a competition where we asked our employees to submit video clips of them demonstrating some of our products (demonstrating electrical products to a customer has a hugely positive impact on them buying it). We called it 'Dixons Got Talent' - see what we did there?!?! Not only did it engage people, but it also provided us with a huge amount of relevant content as the clips came pouring in.
Learning teams have to be the curators of content, not just the creators.
