Use a bespoke process, and make sure your people are properly trained

I really think everyone should have a bespoke process that fits their organisation and the type of person you are looking to attract. The people doing the hiring also need to be trained properly to carry out the process, they have the organisation's brand in their hands, and it needs to be treated respectfully.

Make use of your recruitment process information

We also need to make sure that we use the information collected during the recruitment process. No one is a perfect hire – so why don’t we build the bits they need to improve on into their development plan when they start? Use the data positively – in this data driven world it is a real area where we miss out.

I love the idea of a 'slow dance' between employers and potential employees - this is more likely to lead to a longer-term, more meaningful relationship!
